Pete Byers is currently the Chairman of the Mohave County Board of Supervisors; serving District 1. He is serving his last year of an eight-year term on the Board.

Supervisor Pete Byers has been a resident of Mohave County for over 50 years. In the early years, his family resided in Peach Springs where his father operated a towing and garage service. For several years, Pete operated the family business, eventually moving into the City of Kingman where he opened and operated his own packaged goods business. In later years he was a successful real estate salesman.

Pete has taken an active part in the community and served on the City of Kingman’s Planning and Zoning Commission for seven years, and on the City Parks Commission for eight years.

Pete served on the Board of Directors for Mohave Electric Cooperative for eleven years and also served on the Board of Directors of the Arizona Power Electric Cooperative in Benson for three years. He has been a member of the Elks for over 40 years, president of the Little League, a member of the Peach Springs School Board, and Chairman of the Board of Realtors.

He participates in several local organizations, including Rotary, where he served as a past president. He currently serves on the County Supervisors Association as First Vice President; County Supervisors Association Legislative Policy Committee; Western Arizona Council of Governments (WACOG);  Mohave County Board of Health as Chairman;  Arizona Rural Transportation Advisory Council; and Canyon Region Economic Development Alliance.
